The Web Summit Qatar 2024 was a remarkable success, with over 15,000 attendees and exhibitors from 118 countries. BDD collaborated with Web Summit Qatar 2024 this year, offering eight startups from its community a remarkable opportunity to attend this global event and showcase the innovative and entrepreneurial spirit that Lebanon is known for. The startups networked, exchanged knowledge and ideas, and put on display the latest innovations coming out of Lebanon.
“We believe that the connections made, knowledge shared, and opportunities explored during the event will pave the way for future successes for our startup community. In the spirit of continuous growth and collaboration, we should capitalize on the momentum gained from Web Summit Qatar 2024 and work towards even greater achievements together,” shared Kim Mouawad, Growth Director at Beirut Digital District.
Founded in 2009, the Web Summit has been held in global capitals around the world, bringing together thousands of exhibitors, investors, startups and attendees in every edition. The latest edition in Qatar, proved to be the largest turnout of international startups in the Middle East.
For BDD and its startup community, the Web Summit provided a great opportunity for founders and their teams to meet with investors and mentors. In addition, it allowed for their businesses to be in the spotlight for an international audience, creating ample meaningful connections with potential clients.

Zaker participated in startup showcase, which shines the spotlight on the latest innovative ideas. The quickfire presentations with startups, allows them to highlight their solutions, to overcome some of the biggest challenges in their respective industries.

– Village: Enabling professionals to build meaningful and trusted relationships through warm introductions, fostering a sense of community and connection in an increasingly remote and digital world.
Witnessing all BDD startups at Web Summit Qatar was not only a source of pride for BDD and Lebanon, but also a testament to the vibrant startup ecosystem that BDD has fostered.
