Maroun N. Chammas is the chairman, chief executive officer, and managing director at Berytech since January of 2004. Chammas holds an MBA from Boston University in 1986 as well as a bachelor degree in engineering from Boston University in 1984. He is the vice chairman and general manager at Medco s.a.l since September, 1987. He is a co-founder, director, and board member of Teleinvest holdings. He is the chairman, executive director, and chief executive officer at IDM (inconet data management) since January, 2012. He is also a board member of Bader – young entrepreneurs program and member of the board of directors of Speed@BDD sal. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of berytech foundation. He is an established serial entrepreneur.
Herve Cuviliez started his career in Paris, France by creating his first interactive agency and sold it to ddb worldwide (Omnicom group) in 1999. Since then he has been in charge of all the digital activities of DDB in France (1500 employees). Since 2008, Herve is the co-founder and CEO of Diwanee, a digital media company which has built one of the largest female audiences in the Middle East. He is the Middle East ambassador for the Webby Awards. Herve is also a partner at leap ventures.
Henri has 20 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur focused on internet-related businesses. He co-founder of Bizrate.com / Shopzilla, acting as CTO until its sale in 2005 for US$569 million. He was designing flat models before they were called NoSQL, and led the creation of the first product-centric online search engine. He has been coaching entrepreneurs around the globe, and is often seen conducting workshops and training sessions. Henri holds a BA in mathematics and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He still codes from Arduinos to iPhones, and prefers the Vim editor.
Delphine Eddé is partner and co-founder of Diwanee, a company building online portals for women in the Middle East region. Created in 2008, Diwanee has become the market leader in women’s lifestyle web content in the Arab language. Delphine has complementary expertise in digital publishing and account management. After receiving her master’s she began her career in advertising in Paris. Prior to founding Diwanee, Delphine served as the New Media Director at Condé Nast France.
Nadim Zaazaa is the director of UK Lebanon Tech Hub and a founding partner of The Council for Visual Affairs. He leads a dynamic team whose vision is to position Lebanon as MENA's technology hub. UK Lebanon Tech Hub’s mission is to create the enabling environment that allows companies and entrepreneurs to grow exponentially. He was previously a part-time instructor at the American University of Beirut and a project manager at the Lebanese Economic Association. Nadim has a background in politics and international affairs.
Christina is the Managing Director of Endeavor Lebanon, an economic development non-profit organization that catalyzes long-term economic growth. Endeavor, headquartered in New York, with a presence in more than 25 countries internationally, selects, mentors and accelerates successful high-impact entrepreneurs worldwide. Christina has more than 13 years of experience in financial advisory, venture capital and entrepreneurship support. She spent the previous 5 years as a Director with Endeavor Lebanon leading the organization’s Partner, Mentor and Investor Networks. Prior to Endeavor, she was a Venture Partner for MEVP, a Beirut-based venture capital fund. She also covered healthcare, consumer goods and retail as part of HSBC Investment Banking M&A team in London and Paris. She holds an MBA from the ESSEC Business School in France as well as an MSc and BSc in Biology from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon.
Omar Christidis is the founder and CEO of ArabNet, a hub for digital professionals and entrepreneurs to connect and learn. Prior to founding ArabNet, he was an investment associate at Sheffield Investment Co. and a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Christidis was born in Beirut, Lebanon and has a BA and MBA from Yale University. He is a co-founder and Director of Development of the Yale Arab Alumni Association (YAAA), a community of over 200 Yale alumni and affiliates with an active interest in the Arab world. He also worked as a management consultant in the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the energy, telecommunication and public sectors.
Sami Abou Saab is currently the CEO of Speed@BDD, Lebanon’s first ecosystem-backed startup accelerator. He has been occupying this role since July 2015 and during his tenure, he officially launched Speed@BDD and recruited the first batch of startups to accelerate. Sami has more than 10 years of experience in technology, both in startups and big tech firms. Prior to Speed@BDD, he worked at Skype and Microsoft Corporation in the US, covering strategy, marketing, and channel modelling. In Silicon Valley, Sami started his own company (MobiLock, aimed at creating a hardware device and mobile application that allows you to unlock your home with your smartphone) that was voted as the best startup in the Berkeley MBA program entrepreneurship class. Sami holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from Berkeley-Haas and London Business School.
Wassim Bassil is the CEO of Interesting Times and a relationship marketing and digital manager with global expertise and local market knowledge. Interesting Times is a post-paradigm-shift enterprise, specializing in creative marketing solutions with offices in Beirut, Dubai, Kuwait City and Abu Dhabi. Wassim has also an engineering and consultancy background combined with large multinational communication experience.
Passionate about his home country, Mouhamad Rabah returned to Lebanon after acquiring a global experience in business consulting in the industries of Energy, Aerospace, and Construction. A visionary, Mouhamad channeled his energy and drive on leading ZRE, a company whose soul aim is to build communities and not only real estate. After successfully delivering The Platinum Tower, the largest residential high rise allowing families to own their dream home in Lebanon and hence labeled, The Landmark of Beirut, Mouhamad ventured into developing the Beirut Digital District, a Work, Live, Play innovative neighborhood aiming to become the go to destination for the digital and creative community in Lebanon, a vision of building an advanced environment allowing Lebanese talents to produce from their home country and sell to the world. Mouhamad holds a Master’s degree in Science from the University of Texas at Austin and an Engineering degree from the American University of Beirut.
