Edgebot, a US-based fintech startup and BDD community member with an engineering hub at BDD, has secured a $100,000 investment from the Lebanese Angel Investor Network (LAIN) at Experia Expo 2026.
The company is developing AlphaLab, an AI-powered quantitative research platform designed to help professional traders develop, test, and validate trading strategies using advanced research tools and artificial intelligence.
Held from October 8 to 10 at Forum de Beyrouth, Experia Expo brought together entrepreneurs, startups, technology companies, and investors through exhibitions, discussions, hackathons, and competitions.
BDD community members and ecosystem partners had a strong presence throughout the event, including Endeavor and LAIN. Among the highlights was the startup pitch competition, organized in collaboration with Endeavor and LAIN, where Edgebot secured the $100,000 investment.
From Product Development to Market Expansion
As Edgebot continues to develop AlphaLab, its business model has evolved from a business-to-consumer (B2C) approach to a business-to-business (B2B) strategy, focusing on trading firms and financial institutions.
According to the team, this shift reflects where AlphaLab can deliver the greatest value, particularly in environments where quantitative research influences significant amounts of capital. Working closely with a smaller number of institutional customers also allows Edgebot to better understand their workflows, refine its product, and accelerate its path toward product-market fit.
This focus was also central to Edgebot’s pitch at Experia. Selected among five finalists from more than 50 applications, the company believes its combination of a large addressable market, an already developed product, and a clear vision for AI-powered quantitative research helped it stand out.
As the team explained, “We were not pitching an idea. We were showing something that already works.”
A $100K Investment to Accelerate Growth
The investment from LAIN will primarily support Edgebot’s go-to-market strategy, including customer acquisition and engagement with trading firms and financial institutions.
A key next step is QuantMinds in London, where the company plans to introduce AlphaLab to potential institutional customers and expand its international reach.
The investment also carries particular significance for the team. While Edgebot already has Lebanese investors based abroad, this marks its first investment from within Lebanon’s startup ecosystem.
Having deliberately chosen to build its company and engineering team in Lebanon, Edgebot sees this investment as meaningful recognition from its home ecosystem.
What’s Next for Edgebot?
Looking ahead, Edgebot’s priority is to onboard five to ten firms actively using AlphaLab, working closely with them to further develop its quantitative research infrastructure for AI agents.
Rather than immediately pursuing large-scale expansion, the company aims to refine its product and workflows with this initial group before accelerating its international go-to-market efforts.
With new investment secured and its next phase of growth underway, Edgebot is continuing to build from Lebanon while pursuing opportunities in international financial markets.
