Maroun N. Chammas is the chairman, chief executive officer, and managing director at Berytech. He has been the chief executive officer since January, 2004. He is the vice chairman and general manager at Medco s.a.l since September, 1987. Chammas serves as the director and deputy general manager at the Chammas group of companies. He is a co-founder, director, and board member of Teleinvest holdings. He is a deputy general manager in Elfmed aviation and vice president international catering and services. He is the chairman, executive director, and chief executive officer at IDM (inconet data management) since January, 2012. He is also a board member of bader – young entrepreneurs program and member of the board of directors of Speed@BDD sal. He is the chairman and chief executive officer of berytech foundation. He is an established serial entrepreneur. Mr. Chammas speaks arabic and french. Chammas holds an MBA from Boston university in 1986 as well as a bachelor degree in engineering from Boston university in 1984.

Abdallah Yafi has more than 13 years of experience in entrepreneurship, technology, strategy and management consulting across the Middle East, Europe and North America. In addition to being an active angel investor, Abdallah is the managing GP at B&Y Venture Partners, a Lebanese Investment fund that invests globally and supports high impact entrepreneurs in building high growth ventures. Abdallah is former founder with a couple of online marketplace ventures under his belt and a successful track record of exiting companies in Canada and the UK. Abdallah previously served on the Board of Directors and chaired the Strategy Committee of Big Bus Tours, the leading global operator of open-top sightseeing and recently co-led a large private equity exit transaction of the business. Between 2002 and 2008, Abdallah held a Management Consultant position with CSC and a Manager position with Accenture France. Abdallah holds an MBA from INSEAD, a Masters degree in Industrial Engineering from Ecole Polytechnique and a Bachelor degree in Mechanical Engineering from McGill University.

Abed's multi-variant experience spanning different industries and disciplines enabled him to starting Vinelab in 2010, the largest MENA influence network based in Dubai with offices in Beirut. Vinelab manages the media of A-list celebs and digital influencers and works with brands on creating branded storytelling reaching tens of millions of celebrity captive audiences across social and owned media. Prior to launching Vinelab in 2010, Abed spent 12 years in various industries spanning banking, equity markets, technology and media across the US, South East Asia and the Middle East. Prior to Vinelab, Abed lead Mubasher Financial Group to lead equity trading volumes and market share in the UAE consistently despite the financial crisis of 2008. Prior to that, Abed spent a few years with Standard Chartered Bank across different disciplines and launched Rab3i TV, the first interactive social network on traditional television. Prior to that, Abed spent a few years in the mortgage business in California witnessing the accumulation of debt that eventually lead to the global financial crisis of 2008.

Ghaith Yafi has more than 13 years of experience in entrepreneurship, corporate finance and direct investments, primarily with early-stage companies in the Middle East, Europe, and North America. In addition to being an angel investor, Ghaith is also a Managing GP at B&Y Venture Partners, a Beirut-based Venture Capital fund that invests globally with a focus on the ICT sector. He is also a former entrepreneur himself with a successful track record having founded and exited a couple of companies in Canada and the UK. He currently serves as the vice-chair on the wef entrepreneurship council and the regional liaison to the mit medial lab.

Hala Fadel is a managing partner at leap ventures, a late-stage venture capital firm based in Dubai and Beirut. Hala has 20 years of experience in finance and entrepreneurship. She has been a portfolio manager for 12 years in European equities at Comgest, a €20bn growth equity fund. Prior to that, she started Booleo, a telecom software business, later acquired as an internal solution by a client. Hala started her career in 1996 at Merril lynch in London in mergers and acquisition. She is the founder and chair of the MIT Enterprise Forum Of The Pan-Arab Region, an organization that promotes entrepreneurship and organizes, among other things, the MIT Arab Start-Up Competition since 2006. Hala also sits on the global board of the MIT enterprise forum and chairs the Arab edition of the MIT technology review magazine. She is also an angel investor in start-up companies in the Middle East and Europe, and has launched a co-working space in Beirut called Coworking+961. She graduated from HEC in France in 1997 with a masters in financial economics and attended the Berkeley Haas School of Business, she holds an MBA from the MIT Sloan School of Management.

Herve Cuviliez started his career in Paris, France by creating his first interactive agency and sold it to ddb worldwide (Omnicom group) in 1999. Since then he has been in charge of all the digital activities of DDB in France (1500 employees). Since 2008, Herve is the co-founder and CEO of Diwanee, a digital media company which has built one of the largest female audiences in the Middle East. He is the Middle East ambassador for the Webby Awards. Herve is also a partner at leap ventures.

Henri has 20 years of experience as a serial entrepreneur focused on internet-related businesses. He co-founder of Bizrate.com / Shopzilla, acting as CTO until its sale in 2005 for US$569 million. He was designing flat models before they were called NoSQL, and led the creation of the first product-centric online search engine. He has been coaching entrepreneurs around the globe, and is often seen conducting workshops and training sessions. Henri holds a BA in mathematics and economics from the University of Pennsylvania and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. After receiving her master’s she began her career in advertising in Paris. Prior to founding Diwanee, Delphine served as the New Media Director at Condé Nast France.

Nadim Zaazaa is the director of UK Lebanon Tech Hub and a founding partner of The Council for Visual Affairs. He leads a dynamic team whose vision is to position Lebanon as MENA's technology hub. UK Lebanon Tech Hub’s mission is to create the enabling environment that allows companies and entrepreneurs to grow exponentially. He was previously a part-time instructor at the American University of Beirut and a project manager at the Lebanese Economic Association. Nadim has a background in politics and international affairs.

Before her return to Lebanon, Christina was an M&A Associate Director at Nomura Code Securities in London, leading several Biotech transactions in the UK and Europe. She also covered healthcare, consumer goods and retail as part of HSBC Investment Banking M&A team in London and Paris. Former to her banking experience, Christina was a product manager at Novartis Pharma France and started her career as a researcher at the American University of Beirut Biology department. She holds an MBA from the ESSEC Business School in France as well as an MSc and BSc in Biology from the American University of Beirut, Lebanon. Christina is married with three children.

Omar Christidis is the founder and CEO of ArabNet, a hub for digital professionals and entrepreneurs to connect and learn. Prior to founding ArabNet, he was an investment associate at Sheffield Investment Co. and a consultant at Booz Allen Hamilton. Christidis was born in Beirut, Lebanon and has a BA and MBA from Yale University. He is a co-founder and Director of Development of the Yale Arab Alumni Association (YAAA), a community of over 200 Yale alumni and affiliates with an active interest in the Arab world. He also worked as a management consultant in the UAE and Saudi Arabia in the energy, telecommunication and public sectors.
Sami Abou Saab

Sami Abou Saab is currently the CEO of Speed@BDD, Lebanon’s first ecosystem-backed startup accelerator. He has been occupying this role since July 2015 and during his tenure, he officially launched Speed@BDD and recruited the first batch of startups to accelerate. Sami has more than 10 years of experience in technology, both in startups and big tech firms. Prior to Speed@BDD, he worked at Skype and Microsoft Corporation in the US, covering strategy, marketing, and channel modelling. In Silicon Valley, Sami started his own company (MobiLock, aimed at creating a hardware device and mobile application that allows you to unlock your home with your smartphone) that was voted as the best startup in the Berkeley MBA program entrepreneurship class. At Data Consult, Sami led the Systems Department in Lebanon and the Middle East and grew its business 8-fold over the course of 4 years. Sami holds a Bachelor of Engineering from the American University of Beirut and an MBA from Berkeley-Haas and London Business School. He is fluent in Arabic, French, and English.
